Sustainable Development Forum in Belgrade

The Sustainable Development Forum 2026 will take place in Belgrade on 26–27 November, bringing together representatives of government, business, academia, international organisations and the financial sector. Jointly organised with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) and Cambridge Judge Business School, the Forum will explore the connections between European competitiveness, energy, industrial innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainable investment.

SDF 2026 Belgrade

Discussions will address some of the key challenges facing European economies, from productivity and supply chain resilience to energy affordability, resource security and industrial transformation. Particular attention will be given to the role of AI and innovation, access to finance, and the opportunities offered by resource efficiency and circular infrastructure.

For Serbia and the wider Western Balkans, these issues are especially relevant. Positioned at the intersection of European markets, industrial value chains and energy networks, the region has opportunities to strengthen domestic value creation, improve resource productivity and develop higher-value economic activities as Europe’s industrial landscape evolves.

The Belgrade Forum builds on SDF Cambridge 2026, held at Cambridge Judge Business School, where discussions focused on circularity as a driver of sustainable growth. It aims to connect this international dialogue with practical policy and business priorities in Serbia and the region. The Circular Competitiveness in Serbia initiative forms part of this broader effort, examining how circularity, innovation and industrial transformation can contribute to long-term economic prosperity.

The event will begin on 26 November with a private reception for invited partners, speakers and guests. The main conference on 27 November will feature European perspectives, sector-focused discussions and practical opportunities for Serbia and the Western Balkans.

The Forum will provide an opportunity to consider how Europe can move beyond responding to economic risks and create stronger conditions for investment, innovation and more resilient prosperity.
