On June 5, Sarajevo hosted EcoForum 2025, a one-day event that brought together participants from academia, business, and public institutions to discuss environmental protection and sustainable development. Organized by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Sarajevo, the event was supported by the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Embassy of Slovenia.
Discussions focused on the importance of integrating sustainability into education, encouraging cooperation between universities and companies, and involving young people in environmental initiatives. Speakers emphasized that economic growth and ecological responsibility can—and should—go hand in hand, especially with today’s technological tools for monitoring environmental impact.
The event concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Faculty and several companies, aimed at promoting joint projects and practical student involvement in sustainability-focused initiatives.
While relatively modest in scale, EcoForum 2025 reflected a growing interest in connecting knowledge, innovation, and environmental awareness in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s development strategies.
