Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has unveiled an ambitious pilot to build 100 autonomous “green” villages nationwide. Though exact timelines remain tentative, active construction may begin as early as next year, with new settlements planned across all regions.
Each village is slated to host over 10,000 individual homes on an average of 5 hectares, built using CIP-panel technology—ensuring both energy efficiency and seismic resistance. The infrastructure will feature renewable energy systems (solar panels and wind turbines), rainwater harvesting and recycling, year-round greenhouse agriculture, and coworking spaces, facilitating remote work and self-sufficiency.
The initiative is projected to attract around $600 million in investment, though funding sources have yet to be fully confirmed. If successful, these eco-settlements could reshape Kazakhstan’s real estate landscape—creating a new, sustainable housing segment tailored to individuals seeking environmentally friendly, technology-forward living.
