The 17th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) European Congress will take place from 27–29 April 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey. Organized under the leadership of ERTICO, in collaboration with the host city, the Congress will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators from across Europe and beyond.
Set against Istanbul’s unique backdrop as a city bridging two continents, the 2026 edition will explore the theme “Bridging Innovation: Integrated, Safe and Seamless Mobility.” The Congress will highlight how local and regional advances can contribute to broader European ambitions for sustainable, connected, and inclusive mobility.
The program will address pressing priorities including digitalisation, automation, governance, and cybersecurity, with a strong focus on safety and protecting vulnerable road users. Sessions will also examine how real-time data, artificial intelligence, and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) can make journeys more efficient and accessible, while supporting the EU’s Green Deal, Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy, and Vision Zero objectives.
With Istanbul as host, the Congress will provide a powerful setting for aligning ideas, technologies, and policies to shape the mobility landscape of tomorrow. It offers participants a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, connect with key stakeholders, and build pathways toward a more resilient and decarbonised transport future.
