Glovo, the multi-category platform, has teamed up with CITI Cluster, an innovation initiative by Politehnica Bucharest, to launch Tech Catalyst: Sparking Urban Innovation. This new competition encourages the development of digital solutions for smarter cities through mobile applications. Developers can submit both app ideas and fully functional solutions until June 2, 2025, with a chance to win part of the €8,000 prize pool.
The competition is open to students, startups, tech companies, and NGOs focusing on smart city innovations in fields like mobility, logistics, e-commerce, fintech, and lifestyle. Submissions will be judged on relevance to urban needs, innovation, integration with existing systems, business model feasibility, and community impact.
Additionally, the winning teams will have the opportunity to attend Glovo Tech Week in Barcelona this September, where they will receive mentorship from Glovo leaders and present their projects to industry experts.
This is the first edition of Tech Catalyst in Romania, following successful implementations in Ukraine and Morocco.
