ESG Adria Summit 2025: A Vision for the Future Emerges from Tivat

From April 9 to 11, over 700 leaders from the Western Balkans and beyond gathered in Tivat for the third ESG Adria Summit, a key regional event dedicated to sustainability, responsible leadership, and future-focused cooperation. Held under the patronage of the President of Montenegro and in partnership with the Montenegrin Government, this year’s summit delivered a dynamic three-day program filled with high-level panels, cross-sector dialogue, and concrete regional initiatives.

The event opened on April 9 with remarks from Biljana Braithwaite, Summit Director and founder of Sustineri Partners, who emphasized the region’s transformation from a narrative of division to one of opportunity and innovation. President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovićfollowed with a strong message: ESG is not just a global trend — it is a necessity for the Adria region. He announced a new scholarship initiative to support Montenegrin students at top international universities, empowering the next generation of changemakers.

The summit also placed a special focus on climate justice, youth leadership, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence. In her closing speech on April 11, Braithwaite highlighted the urgent need for inclusive decarbonization policies and legal certainty to attract investment and build resilient local economies. She also announced that starting in 2026, the event will be rebranded as the Adria Future Summit, with an expanded focus on innovation, education, and regional cooperation.

Participants left Tivat with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility. As one speaker put it, “The region doesn’t just need to adapt to global trends — it must co-create them.” The Summit’s message was clear: sustainability is not a distant goal, but a shared path already in motion.
